Evening strolls with the family is one of my favorite things to do. Even when the days are long and stressful, taking a few minutes to walk as a family really closes out the day on a positive note – something I find very important to live a happy and successful life.
We decided to take baby AB to see my store. She sees it many times over and over, but usually while I’m trying to grab something or hurry up and get her out of it so she can go run around somewhere. Tonight was different. I told TJ (husband) I wanted a picture of her and I at my store, and he was able to capture this candid picture before we went to pose. (This one ended up being my favorite) As I walked up to the doors with her I told her “This is mommy’s store – I own this store and make all of the stuff inside while you’re sleeping and taking naps.” After saying it outload I got teary-eyed and thought “Wow... I can’t believe I do all of this and own this store, and I do it while raising a 1 year old girl”. I've had multiple people in my life tell me that they are concerned I'm over-working myself and am very close to burning out. That may be true on most days, but it is evenings like this one that push the restart button and give me another dose of energy and excitement. Why is this so hard for me? Well not saying that others haven't been through what I am experiencing - many parents work multiple jobs and work very hard. But in my life as we speak, I am running a business and making all of the inventory that it sells (man would it be easier to hit the "order now" button on product - but what's the fun in that?) all while staying home with my daughter - a wild as can be 15 month old - full time as her primary caregiver and no daycare. In addition, I manage my website and this blog along with all social media accounts and all 5 other locations that I have full setups inside. This isn't a pity part either - trust me, it is rough most days but I chose this life and I love every minute of it. I'm just explaining my day-to-day truth and give empathy and appreciation to all parents who bust their butt to make ends meet and to give the best to their family. Yes, days are long, sleep is minimal and I need a serious vacation. The days that are most challenging for me, my husband is the most supportive. He reminds me why I am doing this and why I left my previous job - which was actually fantastic. So, this being said, I welcome all of you on this journey with me. This is what the behind the scenes life of the owner of Wildflower Beauty by Jessica looks like. Maybe one day I can sit back in my beach condo and relax, but right now the hustle is REAL and I want to bring you in so that you get a true understanding of how hard I work to make these awesome products for all of you! I do this because I believe in natural products and what they stand for, and because I'm passionate about beauty care and living a better and happier lifestyle. Sometimes we get to a point where we feel so run down and burnt out, but make sure you take any spare time you may have to stop and remember why you do what you do. And know that if you keep going and try your best, you can never fail. Don't forget to pop over to our Motivational Quotes freebies!
