Personally, I use my exfoliating scrubs on the regular at this point of my skin care journey, and love them to death. Previously though, exfoliating would irritate my skin more than anything else and I never understood what the sugar scrub craze was all about. Redness, dryness, and what seemed like MORE breakouts was what I experienced. I did a lot of research years back regarding this issue, and I want to pass that info to you so that you can understand a little bit more about exfoliating and how it can impact your skin - positively and negatively.
TIPS & WARNINGS:
As you see above, there should be limits placed on your scrubbing habits. The suggestions above are designed for those who also do the after-care I'm about to talk about. When you're taking things away from your skin via scrub, you're allowing new, clean, fresh skin to rise up to the surface. That skin needs to be protected to the best of your ability, or you're going to hope you can scrub it off too just like the rest of it. Ideally, your skin will look its best only having to scrub 1x per week, maybe 2 if you wear a lot of makeup on a regular basis... which is often the cause for acne. Here's what needs to happen post-scrub, in order of application:
